The objective of the Day Habilitation program is to promote consumer choice and individualized outcomes that maximize the development of skills and behaviors necessary for individuals to be participating members of their own homes and communities. The program is geared towards assisting its participants in progressing to more productive, self-sufficient, and integrated roles in society. QSAC operates three Day Habilitation programs, one located in Astoria, one in Hollis and one in The Bronx. The program serves adult individuals from 21 years old and up.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Group Leader
Duties: Teach and supervise Habilitation Specialists in classroom and community settings. Work with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities on Activities for Daily Living and Independent Living Skills.
Qualifications: Experience preferred. High school diploma, college preferred
Hours: 6:30am-2:30pm, and 8:30am-4:30pm Monday - Friday
Salary Range: Starts at $12/ hour
Habilitation Specialist
Duties: Work with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities on Activities for Daily Living and Independent Living Skills in classroom and community settings.
Qualifications: Experience a plus, High school diploma or equivalency.
Hours: Part time 8:30am-2:30pm Monday – Friday
Full time 6:30am-2:30pm, and 8:30am-4:30pm Monday - Friday
Salary Range: Part time starts at $10/hour, Full time starts at $11/hour

Residential Habilitation is a skills training program aimed at developing the skills and behaviors necessary for each individual to be a participating member of his/her own home and community. When a child enters the program, a Residential Habilitation plan is developed. This plan is then implemented by a Habilitation Specialist. The plan is monitored and revised, as needed, by QSAC staff.
Respite provides a reprieve for parents while the respite worker engages the consumer in productive activities in the home or community.

The Residential program provides homes for adults with autism and developmental disabilities. The objective of the program is to assist each individual in becoming independent in the area's of self care, money management and daily living skills in their home and community. This is achieved through individualized services which promote independence, inclusion and productivity for each person.
QSAC operates ten residences throughout Queens and Nassau County.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Residence Manager
Duties: Supervise the overall operation of the residence including staffing, payroll, consumer personal allowance and planning community activities. Instruct and supervise Residential Habilitation Specialists in the residence and the community. Work with individual's with autism and developmental disabilities on Activities of Daily Living and Independent Living Skills.
Qualifications: Supervisory experience and experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism/Mental Retardation. High School Diploma required, BA preferred and NYS Drivers License required.
Hours: Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the consumers and residence. Afternoon, evening and one weekend day required.
Salary: Up to $40,000.00
Assistant Residence Manager
Duties: Assist the Residence Manager in the overall operation of the residence including staffing, payroll, consumer personal allowance and planning community activities. Instruct and supervise Residential Habilitation Specialists in the residence and community. Work with individual's with autism and developmental disabilities on Activities of Daily Living and Independent Living Skills.
Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with Autism/Mental Retardation required. Minimum of a High School Diploma and NYS Drivers License. Supervisory experience and BA preferred.
Hours: Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the consumers and residence. Primarily 2-10pm during the week and one weekend day.
Salary: Up to $36,000.00
Shift Supervisor
Duties: Assist Residence Manager and Asst. Manager with the overall operation of the residence including staffing, payroll, consumer personal allowance and planning community activities. Supervise weekday Morning Shift and provide support to the Assistant Manager and Manager with the overall operation of the residence. Instruct and supervise Residential Habilitation Specialists in the residence and the community. Work with individual's with autism and developmental disabilities on Activities of Daily Living and Independent Living Skills.
Qualifications: Experience working with individuals with Autism/Mental Retardation required. Minimum of a High School Diploma and NYS Drivers License.
Hours: Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the consumers and residence. Primarily 6 - 9 am four days a week with the remaining hours in the afternoon/evening and one weekend day.
Salary: Up to $34,000.00
Residential Habilitation Specialist
Duties: Work with individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities on Activities Daily Living and Independent Living Skills in the residence and community.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. NYS Drivers License. Experience preferred.
Hours:
Full Time: 2-10pm or 3-11pm five days per week, which includes one weekend day.
Overnight Hours: 11pm - 9am or 10:30pm – 8:30am four nights per week
Salary: $11.00/hour – Full-Time
Part Time: Shift include: 6-8:30am Monday - Friday
Sat/Sun 7am - 3pm or 3 - 11pm
Weekday Evenings 2-10pm or 3-11p
Salary: $9.50 - 10.00/hour

The QSAC Preschool & School age Program’s main objective is to provide children with an appropriate education which is implemented in the least restrictive environment. “Appropriateness” is determined by the educational and behavioral goals and objectives that are outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). All programatic instruction is implemented according to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. We use a variety of instructional techniques to maximize the educational needs of each individual child. In addition, speech therapy is also provided as mandated on each child’s IEP. A Parent training component is also incorporated into each child’s education plan, and conducted as frequently as the school administration and parents deem necessary.

The Service Coordinator client and family brainstorm to develop an individualized service plan. The Service Coordinator works to network, research and explore existing or new resources for the family and client. The Service Coordinator also provides referral, linkage and advocacy. They can help maximize benefits and entitlements and also monitor and follow up to ensure that supports and services are being delivered and are appropriate. The Service Coordinator continues to work with the client, assessing new and changing needs. While present needs are often the focus, long term goals may also be identified and initiated.
Location: The QSAC Service Coordination office in Astoria, Queens. Service Coordinators can also make home and school visits, and accompany clients to appointments.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Service Coordinator
Duties: Provide advocacy, referrals and the coordination of services for individuals with autism and their families.
Qualifications: At least 60 college credits and experience in MR/DD field or service coordination.
Hours: Must be flexible, but typically 9-5.
Salary Range: $28-34K commensurate with experience and credits.

The After School Program is a therapeutic, behaviorally-oriented program. Through the provision of individualized, outcome-oriented treatment plans, each child is helped to reach his/her optimal level of independent functioning. The mission of the After School Program is to improve the behavioral and social functioning of each student. The students are placed into classrooms based on functioning level, size, and age. Students also benefit from on-going weekly mainstreaming opportunities. A nutritious snack is provided each day.
Locations: One program operates at P.S. 177, located in Fresh Meadows, one program operates out of our Hollis Campus (196-10 Woohdhull Ave.), one program operates out of the QSAC Astoria Office (30-10 38th Street, Astoria, NY) and the fourth program operates out of our
Day School (12-10 150th St, Whitestone).
