Across New York City and Long Island, hundreds of QSAC’s employees are going to work every day as essential workers. These dedicated professionals are providing support and services in our residences, running critical errands for families, and delivering food to families in need. Their dedication is truly inspiring and reminds us that QSAC’s work continues even in the face of uncertainty and unprecedented challenges.
As the COVID-19 crisis has unfolded, we have remained committed to our mission of providing programs and services of the highest quality. This has resulted in many unplanned expenses, however, at this moment we believe it’s our duty to provide a semblance of normalcy and consistency for the children and adults with autism we serve and their families. In addition to our incredible DSPs providing in-person services, our educators are teaching remotely, support group facilitators are leading virtual sessions, staff members are hosting an array of educational and enrichment programs and workshops, and we have developed virtual opportunities for individuals to socialize and maintain a sense of community.
We are inviting our supporters to consider making a donation at this time of unprecedented need to support our ongoing operations amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as well as our immediate need for funding to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies needed to ensure the safety and well-being of the people we serve.
The days ahead will continue to be challenging, however, as New Yorkers we are resilient, resourceful, and hopeful. Together, we will overcome the crisis before us. Please know that we are always here for the individuals and families we serve throughout New York City and Long Island.
