Pre-Employment Transition Services
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) provide eligible students between the ages of 14 and 21 with services intended to support the planning and successful transition from high school to adulthood.
Job Exploration Counseling
The program provides students with one-on-one counseling about career exploration. Over several sessions, the student is introduced to various career pathways and completes structured exercises/activities to learn more about different occupations.
Post-Secondary Counseling
The service supports students interested in pursuing a post-secondary educational program (e.g., college, technical/trade school, etc.). The service can provide support by exploring different training and educational opportunities, assistance with financial aid, and understanding the types of financial aid available.
Work-Based Learning
Work-Based Learning (WBL) is an educational approach or instructional method that uses community workplaces to provide students with the knowledge and skills to help them connect school experiences to real-life work activities and future career opportunities. To ensure in-depth student engagement, direct employer or community involvement must be a component of Work-Based Learning (WBL). WBL assists students with developing a greater understanding of the soft skills essential to succeed in the workplace. It allows students to learn from people currently practicing in the occupations or careers that interest them and obtain firsthand knowledge from community-based businesses. WBL may include in-school or after-school opportunities, experiences outside the traditional school setting, and internships.
