About Our School

The QSAC School at Whitestone provides behavior analytic, and special education services to students 5 to 21 years of age in a variety of classroom settings.  Our program operates 12 months per year, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 AM – 2:45 PM. The QSAC Day School at Whitestone has 12 classrooms, 11 of which are comprised of 6 children, 1 teacher and 3 teacher assistants (6:1:3), and 1 classroom, comprised of 8 children, 1 teacher and 3 teacher assistants (8:1:3).

Each student’s educational program is designed and implemented using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.  The process starts with conducting an individualized assessment of each student, thus allowing instruction tailored specifically to best meet our student’s needs. Each student at the QSAC Whitestone School receives individualized instruction that is designed and implemented in conjunction with the Committee on Special Education, the student’s family, the student’s teacher, the speech pathologist, and a certified Behavior Analyst or Licensed Behavior Analyst.

The QSAC School at Whitestone provides speech and language therapy as a related service as well as family training and support services. Each family has an individually scheduled monthly meeting with their child’s teacher. Each QSAC school has an open-door policy.

Referrals for the Whitestone program are accepted through a variety of sources but will always include the New York City Department of Education, and the Central Based Support Team (CBST).   QSAC’s Day School in Whitestone is funded by the New York State Education Department and the New York City Department of Education or Nassau County School Districts.
