About the Program

The Community Habilitation program is primarily a skills training program designed to assist families caring for their loved ones with disabilities living at home. The Community Habilitation program aims to enable individuals with autism or pervasive developmental disorder to develop the skills and behaviors necessary to be participating members of their home and community.

Upon entering the Community Habilitation program, each participant’s strengths and needs are assessed, and treatment plans are developed to enhance the individual’s overall functioning. Each treatment plan is designed and implemented according to the principles of applied behavior analysis. The times and schedules of the Community Habilitation program are arranged individually for each consumer. All participants in the Community Habilitation program must be diagnosed with autism or pervasive developmental disorder.
